About the Event

Dr. Michael Healey and Jim Beattie, members of the Board of First Things First Okanagan will be joint speakers in discussing the bad news and the good news about climate change.  

Michael Healey has a PhD in Ecology/Environmental Science and, during his career, has worked as a government scientist and a professor at UBC. He is now retired but remains active using his knowledge to communicate about the effects of climate change and to promote positive action to mitigate climate change.

Jim Beattie is one of the founders and is Chair of First Things First Okanagan.  He has been a farm worker, farm owner, member of the BC Legislature and  general manager of a provincial agricultural marketing board.
