CleanBC Survey
by Aug 1, 2025
The BC Government created CleanBC to lower climate-changing emissions by 40% by 2030. A review is on now to get feedback from citizens about how to improve it.
CleanBC had many actions to reduce emissions in transportation and buildings, the two largest polluters. They provided rebates to help people change to electric appliances and make homes more climate resilience. They also worked on green job creation, restored ecosystems, improved food security, reduced waste pollution, and engaged with Indigenous groups. EV charging stations were increased and renewable energy projects were funded.
Many efforts worked and people retrofitted their homes. But did it reduce emissions in BC? Could it be better?
The 2024 Climate Change Accountability Report shows that while emissions per person and per unit of GDP are down, total emissions remain steady. B.C. is not on track to meet its 2025 and 2030 targets. The review will help ensure the CleanBC plan reflects current realities and keeps the province on course toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
You can give your opinion and share your experiences to assist the experts in reporting to the government on CleanBC to improve it.
